The Committee
The Committee is an eclectic group of 11 members bound by a desire to grow food locally for nutrition, mental health, educational, community and climate mitigation benefits. This is a dream team is made up of dieticians, community workers, mental health workers, therapists and academics: all focused on solving problems sustainably and long-term.
The Staff
Thanks to supportive funders we are lucky to have a team of 4 staff members working together make Campy Growers a successful community market garden
The Volunteers
Our volunteers rock! We welcome everyone (age range varies from 3 to 77 years old!) who wish to contribute to the project. Each volunteer gets a trial and a tour of the site to see if it matches their needs. It is a great opportunity to meet the rest of the team, learn lots about growing and gets your hands dirty.
We have drop-in volunteer sessions on Fridays 1-3pm and Saturdays 10am-12pm.
Activities you can do as a volunteer
- Growing: sowing, pricking out, potting on, planting
- Care and maintenance: pruning, defoliating, mulching, plant training
- DIY: raised bed construction, irrigation set up
- Event: Attend vegetable stalls, engage with the public
- Soil: soil regeneration, clearing growing areas, broad forking, compost making
- Food distribution: harvesting, packing, looking for recipes etc…
Do you want to support our work by volunteering?
I love it! So fantastic to see vacant land used for good putting back life into our soil. Food security from the ground up.

What a fantastic initiative and a warm and welcoming group of people. I really appreciate what you people are doing. Keep up the good work and I will definitely volunteer some of my time to support your work.

This is amazing. I advocate fresh and local produce. I wish we had more places offering vegetables, not processed, chopped. Just left with leaves on. Thank you!
